Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has issued a stark warning that if Texas falls into the hands of Democrats in 2024, the United States as a whole will be in jeopardy. He characterized his upcoming Senate race as a “real fight.”

Cruz highlighted the 2018 Senate election, where he narrowly defeated Democratic opponent Beto O’Rourke by just 200,000 votes. During that election, the Democratic Party poured “tens of millions of dollars” into increasing voter turnout among their supporters.
He also noted that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has expressed a desire to unseat him in 2024, with plans to spend $100 million on the endeavor.
“If they succeed, if Texas turns blue, the country’s gone. The rest of the country, we don’t stay up at night wondering what happens with Ohio or Florida if Texas turns blue,” Cruz cautioned.
In light of the Democratic Party’s strong interest in his Senate seat, Cruz is appealing to Texas voters for support. Democratic candidates Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) and state Sen. Roland Gutierrez (D) are currently vying for the 2024 Senate seat in the Democratic primary.
Cruz criticized Allred for voting against federal funds for Texas’s Operation Lone Star, despite the state facing an influx of illegal immigrants at its southern border. The operation, led by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), aims to curb illegal immigration.
Illegal immigration is a pressing issue for many as the 2024 election approaches, and it has been a prominent talking point for Republicans.
Cruz asserted that many undocumented immigrants have access to a smartphone app that expedites their processing, allowing them to travel freely within the U.S.
He described the process, saying, “And they say, ‘Lawrence, where do you want to go?’ And you say, ‘New York City, Big Apple.’ They say ‘Great, go sit over there.’ And all they’re doing from that point on is processing to put you on a plane or a bus to send you wherever you want to go, and every city in America is now a border city. Joe Biden is the last mile of the human trafficking network,” Cruz added.
