According to the latest New York Times/Siena poll, a mere 17% of voters strongly approve of Biden’s presidency, while a staggering 61% express disapproval, with 47% strongly disapproving.
The poll delivers more grim news for Biden’s reelection prospects, with only 25% of Americans believing the country is headed in the right direction.
Moreover, a majority feel Biden’s policies have done more harm than good to them personally.
Public sentiment also aligns more closely with Trump’s stance on immigration, with 50% supporting restrictions on migrants’ asylum applications, contrasting 43% who oppose such measures.
Americans overwhelmingly view the economy as either poor or fair, with just 26% rating it as good or excellent.
Trump enjoys a significant lead over Biden in a head-to-head matchup, commanding 48% to Biden’s 43%.
The poll suggests troubling signs for Biden’s campaign, especially concerning female voters, where he’s now neck and neck with Trump despite his 2020 advantage.
Trump has also gained ground with younger and Latino voters, groups that heavily favored Biden in the previous election.
Furthermore, Trump has nearly bridged the gap among non-White voters without college education, and he maintains a considerable lead over Biden in terms of voter enthusiasm.
Overall, Trump emerges as the frontrunner in most national and statewide polls, triumphing in every hypothetical matchup against potential GOP contender, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R).
