Elon Musk, the owner of X (previously known as Twitter), recently made news at the Atreju festival in Rome, hosted by Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He warned Italy about the dangers of adopting America’s “woke mind virus.”
Musk has faced challenges with this issue before. He has lost some advertisements on X because of accusations of antisemitism and his support for free speech.
At the festival, Musk spoke about the problems with woke culture. He said that it divides people by making them focus on their differences and even makes them dislike themselves. Musk believes that this kind of thinking increases racism and sexism, even though it claims to do the opposite.
He also mentioned that woke culture is not about celebrating people but about criticizing them, which he finds is not fun and leads to more hate than love.

Since taking over X, Musk has seen a lot of criticism from people who don’t agree with his views on various topics, like COVID-19 and free speech.
Musk also talked about the importance of free speech. He said that being able to speak freely is very important for democracy to work.
The Atreju festival is a four-day event that started on December 14 and ends on December 17. It’s a celebration for young conservatives in Italy. Meloni started it back in 1998 when she was leading a youth group in Rome.
